Who we are.
Fishical Pursuit is the guide side of a two-part operation run by Todd Neubauer out of Cle Elum, Washington. Days on the water, quiet mornings on the oars, and the occasional streamer eat that makes the whole season worth it.
The guide.
Todd runs Fishical Pursuit as owner and head guide. Long-time rower, drift-boat operator, and river rat with roots in the Cascades — the water is where he spends his best days.
Todd is a WDFW licensed guide operating under Neubauergroup LLC dba Fishical Pursuit. All trips are permitted, insured, and run to a documented safety program.
What we run.
Drift boats.
Purpose-built drift boats for the Yakima — comfortable for two anglers with room to move, cast, and fight fish without stepping on each other.
Rafts.
Fishing rafts for higher flows, shallow water, and side channels the drift boats can't reach.
Walk & wade.
On-foot access to tributaries and side channels. Best fit for beginners, casting instruction, or anglers who want to slow down and read the water.
Where we fish.
Home water is the Upper Yakima River — one of the most productive year-round trout fisheries in Washington. When conditions call for it, we run trips on the Naches, Cle Elum, and other tributaries in the basin. All water is public, permitted, and legal to fish under Washington rules.
How we run trips.
- Small groups. One or two anglers in the boat. Three max on walk & wade. No cattle drives.
- Year-round. We fish every month of the year. Skwalas in spring, hoppers in summer, October caddis in fall, midges and streamers in winter.
- Gear included. Rods, reels, lines, flies, leaders, tippet, and terminal tackle are on us. Bring your own waders and wading boots — we don't rent gear that fits every foot.
- Documented safety. Every trip runs under a written safety plan. Guides carry PFDs, first aid, and communication for the reach we're on.
